Commission expectations

In addition, by proceeding with a custom artwork commission, you agree to the following terms:

Booking & Deposit

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your commission and secure a place in my schedule. Work will not begin until the deposit is received.

Communication & Concept Approval

Once booked, I will work closely with you to understand your vision. A preliminary sketch or mock-up will be shared for feedback and approval before the final artwork begins.

 

Timeline

Each artwork is created with care and intention. Please allow 4–8 weeks for completion, depending on the size and complexity of your piece. Paintings created using oil paints may require additional drying time. If you have a deadline, please advise me at the beginning of the process.

 

Final Payment & Delivery

The remaining balance is due upon completion, before the artwork is shipped or delivered. Once full payment is received, your artwork will be carefully packaged and sent to your nominated address.

 

Cancellations

If you choose to cancel your commission after the deposit has been paid, the deposit will be retained to cover time and materials. Cancellations after work has commenced may be subject to additional fees based on progress made.

 

Revisions

One round of minor revisions to the sketch or mock-up is included. Additional revisions or major changes after painting has begun may incur an additional fee. My goal is to create a piece you’ll love, while also honouring the creative process.

 

Artwork Ownership & Copyright

You are purchasing the physical artwork for personal enjoyment. Copyright remains with the artist (Renee Louise), and I retain the right to photograph and share the artwork for promotional purposes (e.g. website, social media, portfolio).

If you’d like to purchase full image rights (for commercial use or reproduction), this can be discussed separately.

Care & Framing

Each piece is created using professional materials. To preserve your artwork’s longevity, please handle it with care and keep it out of direct sunlight, humidity, and extreme temperatures. Framing is not included unless otherwise arranged.

 

Returns & Exchanges

Due to the custom nature of commissions, all sales are final. I do not accept returns or exchanges on commissioned artworks.
